To all our members who have larger moored boats on the river why not accompany the small boats on one of the days we have planned to be on the river, failing that how about organising a particular day for the members with larger craft. Please contact any committee member if you feel you could organise this type of gathering.

We hope that our next newsletter will be out on time (before the beginning of April) in the next issue we hope to cover the following.

  1. Boat vandalism with moored boats on the river.
  2. The exciting prospects of the new Pontoon being built for public use at Arundel.
  3. Bringing you up to date on the slipway project.
  4. Other ideas for social events. Can you make these events a reality = Barbeque, Chartered boat trip and other events, suggestions from our members please??  We need your input to make these events happen, perhaps a canoe day??  Or big boat day???
  5. Got a boating item for sale or wanted then why not advertise in the “Baggywrinkle” Free to members.
  6. Want to advertise your company or shop etc in our newsletter, contact Ian Tyrell on 01903 88 4985 for really realistic rates.

The ABC will be holding its first boat gathering of the season for all members who have small trailer craft.

We will meet at Pulborough slipway for launching at 9-30am and casting off at 10-30am for Arundel, boating to Houghton and onto the Black Rabbit where we will stop for refreshments or lunch, before catching the returning tides. On our departure from Pulborough at 10-30am Colin Huggins will accompany us down river as far as the Black Rabbit as this is the same weekend of his planned cruises.

For boaters this is a long day but well worth it for the enjoyment of the Arun.

Contact Nigel Edwards on 01903 883327 or any committee member for more details.
